Delete an account
How to request deletion of your NovelShaft account and the works stored with it.
If you can log in
Request deletion from account settings in the app or Web version. Deletion normally begins immediately. Only when an Apple subscription is confirmed not to renew and its access expiry is known may you choose to wait until that date. Apple and Google Play subscriptions are not cancelled by deleting a NovelShaft account, so check future billing in the store where the subscription began.
On iOS and iPadOS
- Log in to NovelShaft.
- Open Account from Settings.
- Review the deletion timing and explanation.
- Confirm the required acknowledgements, then choose Delete account or Schedule deletion.
On Android
- Log in to NovelShaft.
- Open Account from Settings.
- Review the deletion timing and explanation.
- Confirm the required acknowledgements, then choose Delete account or Schedule deletion.
On the Web
- Log in to NovelShaft.
- Open account settings.
- Choose the deletion timing, confirm the acknowledgements, and request deletion.
- Check the processing state shown on screen.
Delete work data while keeping the account
You may separately delete projects, manuscript items, reference material, and conversation threads from the app or Web version without deleting the account. Deleting a project also deletes its manuscript, conversations, and reference material.
Some deletions cannot be undone. Export any work you need before confirming the action.
If you cannot log in
Request deletion through the contact form with the subject “Account deletion request” and use the registered email address as the reply address. We may ask for additional information only as needed to verify identity.
Do not send a password, authentication code, card number, or security code.
Request deletionInformation deleted
When deletion completes, information kept for ordinary service use is generally deleted or anonymized, including:
- Profile and login-related information
- Projects, manuscript, headings, and structure
- AI consultations and chat history
- Reference material, uploaded files, and images
- Search data built from works and reference material
- AI-processing data that contains creative content
A work cannot be recovered after final deletion. Export anything you need first.
If you use Sign in with Apple
The current authentication method does not give NovelShaft the credential needed to revoke the Apple-side connection automatically. Before deletion, follow Apple’s instructions to stop using Sign in with Apple for NovelShaft. An incomplete Apple-side step does not stop deletion of the NovelShaft account and its data.
Stopping Sign in with Apple and cancelling an Apple subscription are separate. Check ongoing billing in Apple subscription management.
If you have a Google Play subscription
Deleting the NovelShaft account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Before deletion, check its status and future charges in Google Play subscription management, and cancel separately if you do not want it to continue.
Account deletion and a Google Play cancellation or refund are separate. An incomplete store-side step does not stop deletion of the NovelShaft account and its data.
Information that may be retained
Records needed for billing, accounting, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, or evidence that deletion completed may be retained for a limited purpose and period. Manuscript prose, chat text, and reference-material text are not kept solely for those purposes.
Complete removal from backups and external services may take additional time.
Cancel a scheduled deletion
Only a deletion scheduled to wait until an Apple-confirmed access expiry may be cancelled before processing begins. An immediate deletion and a final deletion already in progress cannot be cancelled.
