Register pronunciations for your work
You can now open “Manage reading guides” from the manuscript editor and register the spelling and pronunciation of names or terms in your work. NovelShaft displays these ruby reading guides above both body text and headings without changing the manuscript itself.
You can also ask the AI to review, add, change, or remove reading guides for the work.
Separate shared guidance from instructions for one work
Save a custom prompt in Preferences when it should apply to every work, or save one in the project settings when it belongs only to that work. AI conversations combine both so your usual writing approach and the decisions for the current work remain distinct.
The same project settings window now lets you change the work’s title.
Choose exactly what you share with AI
Selecting manuscript text no longer adds it to the AI conversation automatically. After selecting a passage, open its context menu and choose “Add to AI conversation” to insert it as an editable reference tag. Remove a tag with its delete button when it is no longer needed.
You can also ask the AI to find exact text in a manuscript, revise a specific passage later in a long body of text, or replace text across a chapter or the entire work. It can also help manage the work’s title, manuscript goal, manuscript items, and references.
Load the sections you need in long works
Long conversation histories and manuscripts no longer expand everything on screen at once. NovelShaft displays the relevant range around your current position, and you can load earlier conversation messages when needed.
Manuscript headings now use the same typeface as the body, while their size and weight continue to distinguish them as headings.
