When the same line appears twice in your manuscript, you can ask the assistant to change just the second occurrence. It can also insert text at a particular position or delete only the selected passage.
The assistant can search for exact words across text references and editable entries in structured references, such as character notes. This search does not include text inside images or PDF documents.
In references such as timelines and plots, the assistant can add, remove, or reorder individual entries. It can also replace the image in one image slot or detach its link. Detaching an image keeps the image file and its existing description.
To check what changed, you can ask about the resources modified during a completed AI reply and the before-and-after content available in history. These saved snapshots are separate from the current content, which you may have edited afterward.
If a document has changed since the assistant read it, the assistant must read its latest state before applying the edit.
